Luminary, by Jamie Swanson, is a scrappy star design that is colourful and not as difficult as it appears. In fact, there are only a few seams in the entire quilt that have to match. The result is a sparkling star design. In the first class we will be looking at colour choices and placement. In the second class we will be sewing random and various strip sets. In the third class we will be cutting out our diamonds and backgrounds and beginning to build our star. The fourth class will be the finishing touches!

Have you always wanted to make a quilt but don’t know where to start? This class is for you! Our teachers will guide you through the process of creating the top layer of your quilt in this class. Topics explored will be the use of colour theory, fabric choices, rotary cutting and patchwork piecing to create an amazing quilt top. These basic piecing techniques will be used to construct either traditional or modern pieced blocks using squares, rectangle and triangles.
